Play Blues Piano - beginner course now available just $9.95 a month Blues Piano is fun and easy when you have the blues formula. For many piano players including myself the door to music really opened up when I studied the blues. It's a form of music that crosses billy rock, jazz, country and many pop tunes you hear on the radio. If you know what to listen for you can hear the bluesy rhythms and piano licks that make the songs popular. The I, IV, V chord progressions spans the music charts including gospel. I have put together an example ...
of a very common blues motif that is easy to play yet it does have some very interesting blues licks in it. The song has a interesting introduction and the normal blues form plus a climax of runs that lead back to the beginning motif and then ends. To learn this blues song I will go thru the blues basics and then put this song together piece by piece. Showing you how the intro was created and then how the motif is used to keep the song from drifting off into space. I also slow everything down to show you how the fingering works when playing the blues piano licks and how timing is very important to the sound and the feel of the song. You can apply all of these methods to any other songs. Including songs outside of the blues circle just by changing the rhythm a little. This is one of those incredible blues piano lessons.
