Page 1 of 2 Reading Music and Playing Piano By Ear Being able to read music has it's advantages. You will be able to play just about anything you want within our capabilities capabilities. Most piano players know how to read a little but not to the point where they can pick out some sheet music, analyze it and then play it. Just knowing the melody can be enough, for instance most fake books use the melody line and chord progressions to outline songs. Also some basic theory goes a long way when arranging a song. WatchandPlayPiano.com is creating a members based web site to allow piano players to touch up on there reading skills and add to there playing skills. My motto is: If I can see it-I can play it. between the piano music, online videos, audio, graphics and downloadable PDF files, learning how to play the piano just became a lot more easier and fun. Here's an example of the graphics I use as well as the video and audio files.
